21 UAE fashion designers to debut at Fashionista

A first-of-its kind fashion extravaganza – Fashionista- in October 2011 in Dubai will bring together an ensemble of 40 established and popular emerging designers from India and the UAE under one roof to showcase an exclusive range of artistic designer wear collections.

The exhibitors will include 21 new designers debuting in the UAE, launching their creations to the discerning and fashion-conscious audience of Dubai. The two-day fashion extravaganza for the festive season will be held at The Address Hotel, Dubai Mall on the 1st and 2nd October 2011 between 10am – 8 pm.

The show is promoted by two Dubai-based independent promoters, Rakhi Khanna and Manisha Kumar, in association with Purnam, India.

“While designers at the top-end of the fashion spectrum have made their mark, there are a number of popular and hugely successful new breed of designers in India and the UAE who need a platform to launch their creations in the international market. Fashionista has been conceived in this context offering a premier opportunity to showcase these emerging talents and their collections in Dubai, well acknowledged as a global fashion hub,” Rakhi Khanna said.

For the first time, Fashionista will present to the UAE audience an eclectic range of designer wear by designers from across the length and breadth of India and the UAE. Designers from India will represent their country’s cultural diversity from North to South and their collections will reflect the latest trends.

Artistic designer wear

“Apart from promoting successful emerging designers and their inspirational creations, Fashionista, will bring to Dubai the concept of creatively conceived designer wear. The collections are top notch, variegated in its designs and is created by an array of designers who have made a mark for their unique style and elegance,” said Manisha Kumar.

The exhibition will showcase a supreme collection of clothes, jewelry, accessories such as shoes, handbags etc which are elegant, classy, chic, contemporary or casual. The super style event will put together the season’s hottest trends, the best in wearable fashion with a very apparent emphasis on individual style, she added.

 India presence

Indian designers at the Fashionista will hail from across the country including Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Some of the key exhibitors are Kapaas and Nidhi Agarwal from Kolkata, Eka by Rina Singh, Anu and Anchal, Pranam by Neena Rana, Raw Mango by Sanjay Garg, Msas by Megha & Amit Sanger, Rajul Jain, Orchid Enterprises, Paridhi – Pooja Jain, Adaa by Sunanda from Delhi and Sheetal Sharma from Bangalore.
