874 food-related facilities fined for violating rules

The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) fined 874 facilities in the emirate last year, according to 'Al Khaleej' newspaper.

The authority issued 14,828 warnings and inspected about 55,582 sites, which led to the closure of 52 food establishments for the lack of conformity with health requirements as stipulated by the ADFCA.

It used latest technology during its inspections and has created a wide information data base to keeptrack of violations and measures taken for the same.
