Tight controls over Japanese imports

Dr Mariam Hassan Al Shanasi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Water underlined that the control has been tightened over imported food from the areas affected with radiation.

She added that the ministry was coordinating with all the competent authorities to ensure food imports were free from the radiation.

Al Shansi assured the citizens and residents that the laboratories in the UAE work with the highest efficiency to detect any radiation substances or others.

A joint technical team of the ministry's lab and those of local authorities' labs has been set up to unify the work methodology and ensure quality guarantee performance.
