General Medical Committee in Dubai rejected during the first half of this year 5,692 leave applications submitted to it by employees from different public departments in the emirate of Dubai.

The rejected leave applications sought total of 6,319 leave days.

Dr Hashim Mahmoud Al Khatib, Head of the Committee said in a statement that the rejected leave applications included 5,327 sick leave days and 725 leave days for those accompanying patients abroad, and 267 leave days for those accompanying patients inside the country.

He highlighted the essential role of the committee to boost government performance level, equity among employees, job stability and control of financial waste through the decisions of the committee to deduct from the salaries of staff not entitled to different kinds of leave.
