'I am an Indian, I don't hate Pakistan and I am not alone'. 'I am a Pakistani, I am a Muslim and I don't hate India.

These are love messages that has gone viral on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

A spate of anti-Pakistan protests by the Shiv Sena (a regional political party in India) recently has given rise to an internet campaign that seeks to stop the 'hate politics' and attempts to foster cordial relationships between India and Pakistan.

The ban on artistes, writers and sportspersons from Pakistan has seen a lot of hate politics over the couple of weeks.

This peace campaign is a fitting reply to Shiv Sena – the self-appointed conscience-keeper of India.

36-year-old Ram Subramanian, a writer and ad filmmaker based in Mumbai, on October 22 posted a selfie with a message stating he had 'enough of banning Pakistani artists'.

Soon after, the hashtag campaign #ProfileForPeace went viral on social media with users, from India and Pakistan, sharing selfies with similar messages on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Thousands of Indians and Pakistanis are changing their profile pictures to one with a little love note scribble that says where they are from, that they don't hate each other, and are only being divided by hate politics.
