Dubai Safari is set for completion by end-2016, Dubai Municipality said.

“Seventy-five per cent of the project has been completed and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2016,” the civic body said.

The Dh1 billion project located at Al Warqa district will cover a total area of 119 hectares and is planned to include 10,500 animals from around the world, including 350 rare and endangered animals.

It will consist of a Safari Village, Arabian Village, Asian Village and African Village, Botanical garden, resort along with educational and veterinary facilities.

The cost of the main building is Dh151 million and the cost of the service buildings is Dh131 million.

The first batch of animals moved into their new home in March 2016.

The project once completed will put Dubai on the map for those who expect only the best from a safari park. The knowledge and ethical care for the animals will soon have Dubai Safari recognised as a world leader.

Ticket prices have yet not been disclosed.
