Sharjah hikes cooking gas prices yet again

Sharjah has increased cooking gas (LPG) prices again. Beginning September 6, a 22-kg cylinder (used mostly by households) in the emirate costs Dh26 more.

According to a report in Gulf Today, the revised prices will is effective until October 6. A 11-kg cylinder now costs Dh67 up from Dh57; a 44-kg cylinder is priced Dh252, which is Dh24 up from last month.

However, Adnoc continues to supply average-sized cylinders at subsidised rates at select petrol stations in Sharjah.

Adnoc sells a new blue LPG cylinder at Dh256 -  including Dh180 for cylinder, Dh41 for nozzle. Expatriates are charged Dh35 refilling charges, while Emiratis pay Dh20.

Meanwhile, a new 11-kg cylinder at Sharjah gas distribution centres cost Dh310.
