The largest cruise ship ever built - Royal Caribbean's record-breaking Harmony of the Seas set sail with passengers for the first time.

It left the English port of Southampton on a four-night voyage to Rotterdam, The Netherlands. It will then sail to Barcelona, Marseille, Florence, Rome and Naples.

At 362 meters in length, Harmony of the Seas is a full 100 meters longer than the Titanic and it's length is the equivalent of four football pitches.

The ship has a passenger capacity of 6,780. It has 20 restaurants, 23 swimming pools, a 10-storey waterslide, two surf simulators, two rock-climbing walls, a full-sized basketball court and an ice-skating rink.

At 226,963 tons, the cruise ship has a floating mega-resort with three main pool areas, a water slide complex, an adults-only solarium, an ice skating rink and a mall-like indoor promenade with shops, bars and eateries.

The vessel also has a 1,380-seat theater that will show the Broadway musical Grease, comedy club, jazz club, casino, aquatheater and karaoke bar. It has more than a dozen eateries including an Italian restaurant by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

Harmony has a new attraction, Ultimate Abyss, which just might be the most thrilling attraction ever conceived for a cruise ship. Comprised of two swirling slides, it drops 10 stories from near the top of the vessel down to one of its lowest decks.

One of the key feature of the ship is its bionic bar. Passengers can place drink orders via an app and robotic arms mix and serve the drinks. The two arms can make two drinks per minute.

Passengers are given a wristband known as the WOWband, which acts as a room key and can be used to pay for dinner and shopping onboard.

Harmony of the Seas is the 25th ship in Royal Caribbean International's fleet. It cost $1 billion and took two and a half years to build.
