Man dies in Mohamed bin Zayed Road crash

A UAE citizen, PTP, 34, died in a collision between a car and a four-wheel drive on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road after Global Village going towards dJebel Ali.
 
Meanwhile, Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazrui, Acting Director of the General Directorate of Traffic in Dubai, called on drivers to take caution in light of the changing weather conditions and abide by the rules and etiquette of traffic.
 
He pointed out that there has been huge loss of life and property as a result of lack of commitment by some drivers regarding tips and guidance provided by relevant state authorities during volatile weather conditions.
 
He appealed to drivers and road users to exercise caution and attention during bad weather, especially in times of fog, rain and wind, carrying sand as sand affects visibility.
 
He also called for the need to obey speed limits, leaving enough distance and not to overtake in a dangerous manner.
 
Colonel Al Mazrui pointed out that the General Directorate of Traffic will implement a number of preventive measures during fog, including the more patrols on the roads, continuing education of drivers and road users.
 
He called on drivers to follow preventive measures, including ensuring the cleanliness of the windshield and glass windows and fully functional lights, signals, leaving enough distance between vehicles, reducing speed, lane commitment, changing lanes only when necessary, the use of windshield wipers, getting rid of steam that builds up on the glass windows inside the vehicle, usinfg hazards if need to brake suddenly etc.
