Man drowns off Al Khan beach

A 23-year-old Pakistani man drowned while swimming in a banned area after he was pushed deep into the sea by strong currents.

Police divers rushed to Al Khan area and took the body on Tuesday after receiving calls from beach strollers about the incident.

“The man drowned after he could not resist strong currents and waves that pushed him deep into the water. Sharjah Police appealed to the public to avoid such areas,” the Arabic language daily Emarat Al Youm said.
