December 11 declared holiday for UAE financial markets

The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has declared Sunday, December 11 2016, an official holiday for all UAE financial markets, except the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.

Financial markets will resume work on Monday, December 12 the SCA said.

The SCA made the announcement as per Circular No. 40 of 2016, issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources for ministries and other federal departments.

Accordingly, DGCX will decide the holiday as per the requirements of work and public interest, the SCA said.
