DFM to close for holidays from Thursday
Dubai Financial Market (DFM) will remain closed from Thursday to Sunday on the occasion of the UAE National Day and New Hejry year.
A statement posted on its website said: “In the occasion of the UAE national day and New Hejry year, the official holiday will start on Thursday, 2 Dec 2010 and trading shall resume on Monday 6 Dec 2010.”
The DFM Index was up in the mid-session. At 11.35am, the benchmark index stood at 1,678.02, up 3.25 points or 0.19 per cent, and all sectoral indices except financial, insurance and real estate sectors were pushing the market higher.
Out of 20 stocks traded by the mid-session, 11 managed to advance, with Ekttitab Holding, Aramex, Al-Madina for Finance & Investment, Emirates NBD, Shuaa Capital among lead gainers.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) is also up marginally. At 11.40am, the index was up 2.93 points at 2,734.15.
