The downtrend on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) continued on Wednesday as the index opened at 1,685 points and declined to 1,677.60 points, or 0.84 per cent, at 12.05 pm. Investors seem to be looking for direction following the steep fall on global stock markets seen on Tuesday.
Out of 23 stocks being traded, only three were trading in the green, namely Air Arabia, Drake & Scull and Commercial Bank of Dubai.
Volume toppers are Air Arabia, Emaar, Hits Telecom, Arabtec and Dubai Islamic Bank.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) was also trading flat. At 12 Noon, it was marginally up by 1.19 point at 2,757.
Lukewarm investor response emanated from mixed performance of Asia-Pacific markets. Major indices like Seoul Composite, Nikkei 225, and Taiwan Weighted were trading low as per the latest data, following reports of clashes between North and South Korea on Tuesday.
