Kareena, Bipasha, and Bollywood's most unlikely couples

Look at the dainty and pretty looking Alia Bhatt and the rough and tough Randeep Hooda. The pairing looks as strange as the story of the beauty and the beast.

But then Imitaz Ali in his film ‘Highway’ has felt that this is the perfect jodi for the characters in his film produced by him and Sajid Nadidadwala.

The two might make an unusual onscreen couple, but these days filmmakers seem to experimenting a lot.

Bollywood’s dusky beauty Bipasha Basu who is a photographer’s perfect choice, a dress designer’s delight and a director’s dream finds herself cast opposite the ubiquitous Nawazuddin Siddiqui who seems to have become the flavour of the season after his ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ performance.

Siddiqui who looks mismatched opposite Basu has still been cast opposite her in ‘Aatma’ in what is more or less the villain’s role, but he plays her husband. Well, Gulshan Grover too got to play her husband in ‘Jism’.

And then Bipasha had to really work hard to match up to ensure that her pairing with a talented actor like Siddiqui worked well.

“I like the stories, they are interesting characters and being in the business you want to do something different. I have heard a lot about Nawaz’s work,” she says. The actor on the other hand says that he agreed to do the film only because of Bipasha.

This is just the beginning of weird pairings in 2013. What follows in the very unusual pairing of size zero Kareena Kapoor and Kissing King Emraan Hashmi.

Kareena who had once upon a time laughed and giggled through an entire private screening of ‘Murder’, finds her lips sealed as she works opposite the lip sucker Emraan.

The film that is a joint venture between Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar will be worth looking forward to.

Then there is the strange pairing for the young Imran Khan and Priyanka Chopra who come together for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Milan Talkies’. The dusky Priyanka and the fair Imran will look quite a jodi when they are cast together. “Contrasts always work. Otherwise other actresses may look like his sister,” he guffaws.

Even Ali Abbas Zaffar loves the contrast. Hence his second film ‘Gunday’ has Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh along with Priyanka Chopra. The complexions may not have much of a contrast, but the age groups do.

Both actors are younger then Priyanka, but then it is not just about the age, it is the mileage!
