The last few days have been extremely tough for Priyanka Chopra, who has been put under the media scanner for how she dealt with the death of her spot boy.

While some members of his family had alleged that the actress hadn’t helped them in their crisis, the actress’ team insisted that they worked tirelessly to ensure his body was repatriated to India on Wednesday.

Jiban Patra had died in his Beverly Hills hotel room on April 7.

The repatriation of his body to India had been delayed by nearly three weeks over his mysterious death and some alleged financial crisis.

Priyanka, however, was instrumental in getting his body back to India after flexing some of her star power.

She also took time out from her movie work, to attend his funeral that was held this week in Mumbai.

While some reports suggest a suspected heart-attack, there is no clear indicator as to what actually happened that fateful day.

It is alleged that Jiban had accompanied her on her recent US and Canadian tour, and had been forced to stay back due to some visa issues. He was supposed to join Priyanka and her crew to Vancouver, but he couldn’t travel.

Forty-one-year-old Jiban’s family lives in a tiny home in a Mumbai suburb and is survived by his two kids and wife.

According to an interview reported in Mumbai Mirror, some member of Jiban’s family alleged that the star did not take any interest in Jiban’s case.

This has since been refuted by her spokesperson, who clarified in a statement that read’; "Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. Patra's family. Our aim throughout was to ensure that Mr. Patra’s remains were brought back to his family at the very earliest.

“Owing to the situation that this occurred in a foreign country, where no family member was present, there were multiple levels of paperwork and processes that had to be followed to ensure that the matter was handled effectively and in a timely manner.

“We are making all efforts to ensure his family's needs are taken care of at this unfortunate time.”

Priyanka apparently also sought help from her friend Udya Chopra’s LA-based lawyer.

The actress was in the US city, as she was working on a music album, but was allowed to travel back due to some prior filming commitments.

Over the years Jiban has worked with actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Tabu and Aishwarya Rai.
