Kuwaiti police arrested 10 Filipinos who drove close to a key port in the emirate with a car laden with explosives, which they said were part of training for their security company.

Newspapers said the Filipinos told the police that the TNT explosives stuck to their vehicle belonged to their private security firm and that they were near Shuaiba port to train dogs on detecting explosives.

The Indian driver of the car said he had not known about the explosives and that he was surprised when a dog started barking at them near the port gate.

Police were investigating the company’s director and accused the Filipinos of violating the law by conducting training outside the area designated for such companies.

“The prosecutor ordered the detention of the 10 until Thursday (today) to complete the investigation,” Alwatan daily said.
