125-year-old Saudi dies

A Saudi man aged around 125 years and believed to be one of the oldest persons in the world died at his home in the Gulf Kingdom this week, leaving behind nearly 150 children and their offspring, a newspaper said on Sunday.

Ali Bin Jamaan Al Harthi was buried at his small home village near the western Saudi Taif city on Saturday and most of the village’s residents attended the funeral.

“He was survived by nearly 150 children, their children, grand- children and great-grand children. Al Harthi had witnessed the rules of most Saudi Arabia’s kings and had gone on foot to Haj (pilgrimage) 14 times,” Sabq daily said.
