On Monday, two people were killed after their vehicle crashed into concrete road barriers near Al Mafraq bridge.

Two other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Al Mafraq hospital.

"The accident occurred due to speeding in thick fog. An Emirati and a Yemeni died while two others were injured," Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Beloushi, director of the External Roads Section in the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrol Department, told Gulf News.

In the second mishap, an Indian man died in a three-vehicle collision on the road from Al Marfaa towards Tarif while four others sustained moderate to severe injuries.

In the third case, a man was killed when his car hit a light post in Al Ain's Al Salamat region.

"The motorist who was travelling from the south of the city in rainy conditions, suddenly swerved from the middle lane towards the right and hit a light post. He died in hospital," Major Mohsin Al Mansouri, acting head of Al Ain traffic department was quoted as saying.
