A 13-year-old Egyptian boy who became a star in the famous TV contest programme ‘Arabs Got Talent’ with his stunt performance was killed in a road accident just after he was told by a famous singer he would have a great future.
Mohammed Sharif and his partner in the performance, Kamal Al Masri, 63, won applause after pushing their way into advanced stages of the contest, telecast on the Saudi satellite TV channel MBC.
“Hey young man, you are very much talented, a great future is awaiting you,” Lebanese female singer Najwa Karam told Mohammed after his latest performance.
Mohammed replied that he would keep training to perform even better so he would win the contest in his category. Newspapers said Mohammed died in a road crash after his latest performance two months ago while he was going to mosque for dawn prayers in Cairo.
His partnership with Masri, a retired Egyptian circus performer, had given birth to what is called “the golden legs band.”
Deer killers jailed 2 months, fined SR10,000
A Saudi court sentenced three local men to two months in prison and fined them SR10,000 each after they were convicted of attacking a deer reserve in the Gulf Kingdom and killing three of its inhabitants.
The three confessed to having entered the reserve in the southern province of Najran with their four-wheel cars and shooting at the Arabian gazelles, among the rarest and most endangered animals in the Arabian Peninsula.
Police have described what the three men, all above 30 years old, as a real deer carnage which they said was not justified.
The three were arrested by reserve guards who were later joined by police patrols in a risky chase of many hours in the rugged area.
