'Bad' lawyers to be disgraced in Saudi

Lawyers who violate the profession will be disgraced in Saudi Arabia under a new law passed by the Gulf Kingdom’s Shura council (appointed parliament).

Newspapers said the council endorsed the modification to the law governing the legal profession in Saudi Arabia, including a one-year jail or a SR30,000 (Dh30,000).

“Lawyers who violate the rules of their profession could face one of those penalties or both…they will also be disgraced under the amended law,” Ajel daily said.
