Bulgarian, Holland hoofed animal, items banned

The UAE banned on Tuesday the import of all hoofed animals, their products and their offal, from Bulgaria and Netherlands as a precautionary measure against infiltration of any epidemical or contagious diseases into the country.

According to the decree, those animals and their products will not be allowed to transit through UAE.

The ministerial decree, which excludes pasteurised and powdered milk, and their by-products, was motivated by information received from the International Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) which states the appearance of the food and mouth disease in sheep and cows in the two European countries.
