Crow attacks Emirati to avenge dead baby

A crow kept attacking an Emirati man for nearly a year apparently to avenge its baby who it believes was killed by the man after it was born on a tree in the UAE.

A film screened by Dubai TV showed the crow waited on top of a tree before swooping on the head of Ismail Al Maasam as he walked near that tree in Dubai.

To prove he is targeted by the bird, Maasam took TV announcer Mohammed Al Khatib on a walk near that tree and was again attacked by the crow, which appears to know him very well.

Khatib tried many times to avert the attack as the bird kept flying back to the top of the three before swooping again.

“This bird never leaves me alone. It thinks I killed its baby. What happened is that I was once walking near that tree when I found a baby crow. I took it home and tried to feed it but it won’t eat so I took it back to the tree. The next day, I found it dead.

“I think the mother thought I killed its baby and wants revenge. It also may want to protect its new baby from me,” Maasam said.
