The ministry of education honoured the 53 toppers of Grade 12 exams from various schools across the UAE on Wednesday.
Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education, handed the students a cash prize of Dh100,000 each along with a laptop for their outstanding performance in the Grade 12 exams, results of which were announced a few weeks back, Khaleej Times reported.
Alia Majid and Mohammed Nazih Siraj received the top honours for their momentous 99.9 per cent result.
Hosted under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the students were selected from the education zones and applied technology schools.
The education minister said: “The school year was full of extraordinary effort characterised by the patronage of the Ministry of Education. The credit for the success of students belongs to various departments, public schools and school districts which have brought a paradigm shift in education. “We appreciate and take pride in our education system. We are working to achieve global competitiveness in education, while raising the efficiency of the public education system and upgrading our schools to improve the quality of educational services.”
