Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has approved the sports sector budget of Dh526 million for year 2016, up from Dh492m in 2015.
This came during the eighth board meeting of the DSC held on Sunday under the chair of Mattar Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of DSC. The board members also reviewed reports on sports activities organised by DSC during 2015, the financial reports of 2015 and the budget of 2016.
The Council congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council on the accession anniversary of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed to the post of the Crown Prince of Dubai, on February 1, 2008.
The DSC pledged its allegiance to the leadership for continuous efforts to upgrade the sports sector. It also thanked Sheikh Hamdan for his efforts to advance the sports sector.
Al Tayer reiterated that the wise leadership supports the sports sector to achieve its grand goals and hone the skills of local cadres.
