They assaulted me, dragged me to the bedroom, pushed me to the bed and tied my hands and legs. Then they covered me with the blanket before beating me up,” she testified.

The attackers stole Dh2,500 and mobile phone of the victim before leaving her tied on her bed.

“After about an hour and a half, I could release some of the rope and got I went down the street and sought police help,” said the victim.

“When we arrived at the location following orders from the Operation Room, we saw a woman with her mouth gagged with pieces of clothes.

“She had also her hands tied. The woman was standing near Al Ghurair mosque in Naif,” testified First Lieutenant Naji Mohammed.

He admitted that they used to visit Iranian women friends who stay with the Chinese in the same flat.

“I headed with two friends to the flat on that day as our friends were packing their luggage as they wanted to leave the country. The women asked us to get the remaining of their stuff from the flat.

“We got up to the flat and knocked at the door. The Chinese woman asked us to pay Dh1,000. We refused that because the women had already paid her and cleared all dues,” claimed the first accused.

As the Chinese woman tried to close the door to prevent the men from getting in and taking the women’s luggage, they abused her.

“I left the place and I do not know who tied and robbed her,” claimed HA.

Five days later, police arrested AM.
