New details have been revealed about the Dh2.02-billion The Rosemont Hotel & Residences in Dubai, which will now have a digital underwater world and cosmic experience, besides a tropical rainforest and sand-less beach.

“Few developments in Dubai offer year-round outdoor space that can compete with harsh summer temperatures. One of the project’s core amenity features – a massive 75,000 square feet - outdoor rainforest features lush vegetation and advanced sensory rain systems, creating an entertainment experience not found elsewhere in the region,” said DJ Armin, principal at ZAS Architects.

“Work has commenced on site and all the funds are in place to complete the project in 2018,” he had told Emirates24|7.

Located along Sheikh Zayed Road, the more than 2 million square feet project will house a 448-key, 53-storey hotel tower that has been conceptualized as a flowing river, while moving lights will shine the five-star 280-key, 53-storey serviced apartment tower in a pattern inspired by atomic, orbital rings.

Within the rainforest, resident and visitors will be surrounded by a landscaped tropical oasis, dappled sunlight and tropical mist that will be lightly sprayed through the trees. There will be a splash pool along the sand-less beach, adventure trails, play zones, waterfalls, streams and a prehistoric Jurassic-inspired marsh.

According to the architect, a technologically advanced sensory rain system will create a 360-degree experience, offering the sensation of being surrounded by rainfall without actually getting wet.

The hotel lobby will have a skypool – a 30 feet zero-edge, partial glass-bottom pool - that will star-lit from below mimicking the night sky, Armin revealed.
