Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude strikes central Italy

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 hit central Italy on Wednesday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The quake was recorded 111 km (69 miles) northeast of Rome at a depth of 10 km, the centre said on its website.
