Twelve people were injured when two vehicles collided in Sharjah on Monday evening.

The accident occurred on Qotah bridge going towards Nazwa area, when one of the vehicles entered the main road without ensuring that the road was clear of traffic.

Seven of the injured are Emiratis.

Operations Room of the General Directorate of Sharjah Police was alerted of the incident at about 9pm on Monday.

Police patrols and ambulance arrived at the site to find several people injured.

They were transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital and Al Dhaid Hospital.

According to police, the accident was a result of the sudden entry of a Land Cruiser from a sub-route to the main road without making sure the road was empty.
