12-year-old Filipina wins molestation case

An Indian grocery worker was sentenced to three months in jail for molesting a 12-year-old Filipina student while buying juice from his grocery, located opposite her school.
 
The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered MH, 27, to be deported after serving his jail term.
 
According to records, on November 30 at around 3pm, DF, was with her sister waiting for their mother to pick them up from school.
 
“We went to the grocery to buy juice.

“My sister stood at the door looking at the street while I stepped towards the fridge in a narrow passage between shelves to pick up the juice.

“After picking up the juice I proceeded to pay for it.

“All of a sudden, he touched me 'inappropriately' and told me there is no need to pay for it.

“I left the juice on the desk and rushed out from the grocery. I told my sister what happened and she advised me not to tell anyone,” said the victim.
 
As their mother could not come and pick them up, the two girls and their brother went home by Metro.
 
At home, the victim told her father who lodged a complaint with police.
