121kmph speed limit from Al Shahama to Sheikh Zayed Bridge

A decision by the Joint Safety and Traffic Solutions Committee in Abu Dhabi, reducing the speed limit for light vehicles on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway to 121kmph, will come into place from today.

The Abu Dhabi–Al Shahama main road (E10) will be reduced from 141 kmph

Radars will be set at 121kmph in both directions from Al Shahama to Sheikh Zayed Bridge, to catch speed violators in both directions.

The new speed limit will be in place until the end of expansion works on this section of the highway.

The speed limit will help prevent accidents resulting in deaths and serious injuries, the committee said.

The committee called on motorists to adhere to the new speed limit as well to be careful while driving.

The maximum speed limit on the from Tuesday, the Safety and Traffic Solutions Committee Abu Dhabi has announced.

Earlier, Khalid Rashid Al Suwaidi, Surface Transport Adviser and Acting General Director at the Department of Transport, commented that Abu Dhabi-Shahama road works have led to reducing the number of lanes from four to three, which necessitated the need for temporarily reducing the maximum speed on the road.
