15-year-old driver killed in UAE road crash
An Emirati teenager and two Asians were killed in separate accidents in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday.
Brigadier Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director-General, Central Operations Room, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that at 2.35pm the control room received information about a vehicle driven by 15-year-old, ZRH, veering off the road and ramming into a lamp post.
The car caught fire killing the youngster on the spot. Though ambulances, rescue vehicles and paramedics arrived in record time, they could not save the teenager.
In another accident, two Asians were killed and three others suffered injuries, the police official added.
According to initial investigations, the driver lost control of the car, which overturned and fell into a deep valley.
Some of the passengers inside the vehicle were thrown out in the impact of the fall. Two of them – aged 20 and 40 respectively – were killed on the spot even before the paramedics could arrive.
The injured were rushed to hospital, while the bodies have been transferred to Fujairah Hospital morgue.
Brigadier Humaidi urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and maintain speed limits.
