16 free buses to Majaz Island Amphitheatre

The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) of Sharjah has launched 16 free bus routes to take passengers from and to the newly-opened Majaz Island Amphitheatre this week. The theatre is the stage for the ‘Cluster of Lights’ show.
In celebration of the Sharjah Islamic Culture Capital 2014, Sharjah is hosting one of the Arab’s world most spectacular shows this week. The first performance for the audience was staged on Sunday. Four more days of festivity will dominate the emirate this week, all around the newly opened amphitheathre on Majaz Island.
The 16 buses serve four routes and are making 60 trips per day at performance timings, said Abdul Aziz al Jarwan, Director of Transportation at the RTA.
With a five minutes headway, a first bus route will serve Al Layyeh (government buildings), while another bus will stop at the Khalid Lagoon Corniche. Both bus routes operate from 6pm to 8pm.
Every 15 minutes another bus route will serve the area behind the Islamic market from 6pm to 8pm, while a fourth bus will stop in front of the National Park en route to Sharjah International Airport every 30 minutes from 5pm to 7pm.
The performance tells the story of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) from his birth until his death.
Tickets for Clusters of Light show cost Dh50.
