16 motorists caught speeding over 200kph

The newly installed 'sniper' radars in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi recorded 16 cases of over-speeding on Al Ghuifat road where motorists drove at more than 200kph, reported 'Al Ittihad' newspaper.

Vehicles of these over-speeding motorists will be impounded in addition to slapping each of them with a fine and 12 black points, said Major Mohsen Bakhit Al Menhali, Head, Traffic Department, Western Region and Patrols, Abu Dhabi Police.

Al Ghuifat is one of the important arteries linking the state to neighbouring countries.

Sniper radars monitor all roads in the Western Region around the clock.
