The Ministry of Social Affairs has issued a warning to 19 kindergarten schools for violating the law by enrolling children that are too old to be there.
The ministry has also called on parents not to be fooled by advertisements posted by summer nurseries that accept children of any age.
Mouza Salem Al Shoumi, Director, Child Department, Ministry of Social Affairs, told Arabic daily Al Bayan, “The ministry warned these nurseries because of accepting children over the legal age of admission and who should be in a higher stage that kindergarten.”
She added, “The admission of such children will expose parents to various problems at the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social Affairs.”
Al Shoumi called on parents to review the law of admission when registering their children in pre-primary schools, and most importantly look at the license of the kindergarten.
