Two people died and six people sustained moderate to severe injuries in a collision between two vehicles near the cement factory in Jebel Ali industrial area.
Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazrui, acting director of the General Directorate of Traffic of Dubai Police, said the crash happened at 5.45am on Saturday.
The two vehicles in the accident were a 14-passenger capacity light bus and a heavy bus with capacity of 40 passengers.
The most seriously injured person among the six was taken to hospital by helicopter while the others were taken for medical treatment by road.
Col Al Mazrui said initial inspection indicates the collision happened because of speeding and entering a street without making sure that it is clear of any vehicle.
