Two people plunged to death from high-rises in Sharjah last week, while a third is critically injured, reported ‘Al Ittihad’ Arabic daily.

An 11-year-old British boy died after falling from the sixth floor of a building in Al Majaz area

The boy, identified as H. H., of Arab origin, has two siblings – 7-year-old sister and a 4-year-old brother.

According to his family, he jumped from the balcony on Tuesday and died on the spot.  His shocked parents say that he was a smart kid and enjoyed company with school friends.

Sharjah Police is investigating, while the body has been transferred to forensic department.

In a separate incident, a 51-year-old Arab national died after falling from the 19th floor of a building in Abu Shaghara on Saturday morning.

Police rushed to the site and transferred the body to forensic department. Investigations are on to determine if it was a suicide or a criminal incident.

In the third such incident in the emirate, a 23-year-old Bangladeshi woman was seriously injured after she fell from the first floor of the building in Al Nahda area.

She has been transferred to Kuwaiti Hospital.

Investigations reveal she was staying in the country illegally.

She will be interrogated by police once she recovers.
