India’s former Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor arrived in Dubai along with his wife Sunanda Pushkar for the second leg of their wedding celebrations.
The three-day long celebrations that starts today is being hosted at a private residence in Dubai.
Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Prakash Bhojwani, a Dubai- based Indian businessman said, “The events will be held at my residence at Al Safa and will start on Sunday with a special sangeet session (musical evening).
The Kashmiri styled ceremony will be held on Monday followed by a reception the day after,” he said.
“The couple have already arrived in Dubai and have booked into a hotel,” he added.
The couple tied the knot on August 22 at Tharoor’s 200-year-old ancestral home in Palakkad, Kerela. The wedding is the third for both Tharoor, 54, and Dubai-based Pushkar, who is of Kashmiri origin.
Meanwhile, Indian actor Anupam Kher has tweeted that he is on his way to Dubai to attend the wedding ceremony.
“Flying to Dubai for a motivional lecture and Mr Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar’s Kashmiri wedding (reception). Looking forward to it and to Kashmiri food,” wrote the actor on Twitter.
According to Bhojwani about 150 to 200 people are on the guest list of 70 who are from India. “There are a couple of high-profile guests from the UAE as well,” he added.
