250 UAE prisoners get 'free' tickets home for Eid Al Fitr
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF) has pledged to pay the expenses for the deportation of 250 pardoned prisoners from different nationalities to their home countries.
The gesture came in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces
The pardoned prisoners, who were serving the jail terms to be followed by the deportation, could not afford to pay for their return tickets.
A KF source said that all the necessary procedure to deport them had been completed and the foundation had already deported the first batch.
He added that through this project, the foundation aims to enhance its programmes and projects.
Beneficiaries extended their thanks to the foundation, as this would avail them the opportunity to spend the rest of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr with their families in their home countries.
