3 hikers rescued from RAK mountains

The air wing of Ras Al Khaimah Police, with the help of the Traffic Department succeeded in rescuing three foreign tourists, all Europeans, who were stranded in the mountains of the emirate.

The tourists were climbing the mountains to explore the wild in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah when they got lost.

Lieutenant Saeed Rashid Yamahi, of the Police Air Wing in Ras Al Khaimah, said that the operations room received a call that three foreign tourists had were stranded on a mountain.

Captain Abdullah Al Shehhi and First Lieutenant Victor Balan immediately flew there in a helicopter where they found two of the three tourists.

The traffic department rescued  the third tourist.

The three were then transferred to hospital.

Lieutenant Yamahi called on members of the community to take caution when climbing mountains.
