A three-year-old Emirati girl from Abu Dhabi who was found face down in a pool on Friday is in coma.
The child is on ventilator in Al Rahba Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) official was quoted as saying by 'Gulf News'.
When the child was taken to hospital she had no heartbeat and was not breathing. Immediately, CPR was performed and heartbeat restored but the child has not regained consciousness, the official added.
According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention statistics, more than one in five drowning victims are children aged 14 years and younger.
