3 years in jail for setting cars on fire

A criminal court in Khorfakkan sentenced a young Emirati man to three years in prison after he was found guilty of setting three cars on fire for “amusement”.

The boy, just under 20, confessed that he smashed the glass of three cars, poured petrol and set them ablaze in three separate incidents in the eastern port.

“He told police that he was doing this for amusement. He was questioned by the prosecutor who sent him to court,” Al Bayan daily said.
