3 years' jail for stabbing ex-girlfriend

The Dubai Court of Fist Instance on Sunday sentenced a Nepalese man to three years in prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend. She apparently dumped him because he failed to keep his promise to marry her.

The 33-year-old is accused of stabbing his 39-year-old Filiina girlfriend before trying to kill himself, reported 'Gulf News'.

He will also be prosecuted for overstaying in the country and later deported after serving his sentences.

He is also accused of injuring the Filipina's workmate. According to the chargesheet, in an inebriated condition, he walked into the salon where his ex-girlfriend was working and attackedher on the hand, chest and hand. He later tried stabbing himself.
