33 killed on Sharjah roads in 2014

Reckless driving caused 239 run-over accidents that resulted in 33 deaths on roads in Sharjah in 2014, according to police data.

“The main causes for those accidents include reckless and irresponsible driving, as well as failure by traffic rules,” Sharjah’s acting traffic director Lt Colonel Ahmed Darwish said, quoted by Emirat Alyoum daily.

He said motorists could preserve lives and material damage if they just “drive responsibly and respect the rights of road users.”
