337 tonnes of dates sent to 24 nations
As per the directives of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), the foundation has launched its ‘Dates Distribution Project’ to sisterly and friendly countries, on the occasion of Ramadan.
An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said, the KF has shipped 337 tonnes of dates by sea and air to 24 countries around the world. The distribution of these seasonal shipment of dates is an affirmation of the institution’s keenness to improve the lives of those that suffer in difficult living conditions and the provision of some of their needs as beneficiaries during Ramadan. The distribution will take place in co-operation with the relevant embassies in those countries.
Countries receiving the shipments are Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Tanzania, Maldives, Uzbekistan, Japan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Serbia, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Swiss Confederation, Germany, Italy and the United States.
Khalifa Foundation organises mass iftar in Indonesia
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in co-operation with the UAE Embassy in Jakarta, has organised a mass iftar for 2,000 people, at the Al-Taqwa Mosque in the Bogor region of Jakarta, Indonesia.
A number of Indonesian officials attended the iftar, led by the governor of the city of Bogor, director of security and members of parliament and the city council.
The initiative received much appreciation from beneficiaries who expressed their delight for the generous assistance that the UAE provides to Muslims in Indonesia.
