A rare 450-year-old Holy Quran, hand-written with pure gold water, was put on display at the recently concluded luxury expo in Dubai.
The Holy Quran is part of the personal collection of Rateb Agha, Chairman, Agha Group.
Speaking to 'Emirates 24|7', Agha said: “The Holy Quran is handwritten with gold water and the pages have been made out of pure gazelle leather. The covers of the Holy Quran have been crafted of pure natural palm trees and the origin is from Damascus.”
On display from the Agha collection was an antique sword priced at Dh3.67 million.
“The sword dates back to the 16th century. The blade is hand made from original ‘Jowhar’ with the sword cover made of pure 22 carat gold while the handle is original ivory,” he said.
The World Luxury Expo, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2013, was held at Burj Al Arab from January 15 to 17.
