5 road deaths in 2 days; Filipino child run over

A 7-year-old Filipino boy died after he was run over by a car on the road in Sharjah on Sunday, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Al Ittihad Arabic language daily quoted a police spokesman as saying the boy was knocked over by a vehicle in Al Majaz neighborhood and was rushed to hospital.

“The child later died of his injuries in hospital. We are investigating the case,” the spokesman said without identifying the driver.

An Asian man was killed after he was run over on the Shamil-Al Ramis Road in Sharjah on Monday. Police patrols and an ambulance  rushed to the site, but the victim was already dead due to his injuries, Al Khaleej reported.

Speeding kills 3 in Ai Alin

Three men, two Emiratis, and a third who remains unidentified, died in two separate incidents on Sunday in in Al Ain, Al Khaleej reported

The accidents were caused due to overspeeding and not leaving enough distance between vehicles.
the report quoted Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Balushi, Director of Traffic and Patrols in Abu Dhabi Police, as saying said in the first incident a car driven by a 30-year-old Emirati man collided with another vehicle.Both men were killed.

In the second accident, an Emirati, identified as KHAA, was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and suddenly swerved.
