Anti-Narcotics Department of Dubai Police busted a gang of hashish smugglers operating across the UAE and arrested three Asians, including the supplier, and seized about 50kg of hashish and half-akg of heroin.

Major-General Abdul Jalil Mahdhi Al Asmawi, Director of Anti-Narcotics Department, Dubai Police, said the three men were caught in an undercover operation following a tip-off.

Undercover officials met ZAK in Al Satwa area and struck a deal with him and decided to meet at a particular place to buy the stuff. When the accused arrived at the designated place with five blocks of hashish, weighing six kilograms, the police arrested him.

ZAK told that he stored the drugs at his home in Al Naba'ah in Sharjah. Later in co-ordination with Sharjah Police his residence was raided where they discovered about 44kg of hashish in a suitcase.

ZAK then led the investigating team to GBS - his partner who operates from Al Ain. But by the time the security department in Al Ain reached his place, GBS had managed to escape.

After a few days, however, he was arrested from Dubai.

GBS in turn led the police to MM, who supplied drugs to him. MM was arrested from Fujairah. He confessed to giving about 50kg hashish to GBS. MM also led the police to a place in Al Quoz, where he had stored about half-a-kg of heroin.
