7 camel thieves jailed in Abu Dhabi

A criminal court in Abu Dhabi sentenced seven expatriate men to prison terms of between three and seven months after they were found guilty of stealing camels and sheep from several farms in the emirate.

The court also ordered the deportation of the defendants, some of whom were found to be staying illegally in the UAE.

Police had arrested the seven in a raid on a suspected house, where they found stolen camels and sheep.

The seven confessed to have burgled many farms in the emirate and sold some of the loot.
