Tragedy struck again at a Pakistani home in Sharjah with the death of the father in a road accident to become the number 7 in a wave of deaths that have taken six of his children – all under four years old - over the past 12 years.

Abu Khaled was driving on Rafeia-Zubair road in Sharjah emirate when he was involved in an accident, resulting in his death and in the injury of his wife and a remaining boy, Khaled, the only child in the family to live over four years.

Doctors at Dhaid hospital said Umm Khaled and her five-year-old son suffered from medium injuries and remained in hospital for treatment.

“My sister is in a very bad psychological condition,” her brother Abdul Wahab said, quoted by the semi-official Arab language daily Alittihad.

“She has now lost the family’s sole supporter after losing six children over the past years…they just died one after another before her eyes.”

Alittihad said Umm Khaled has lost three sons and three daughters, all aged under 4 years, and that doctors attributed their death to a sudden heart stoppage.

3 Saudi brothers drown before parents’ eyes

Three Saudi brothers aged below 10 years drowned before their parents’ eyes while on a weekend picnic at a park in the Gulf kingdom.

The father, his wife and three sons were spending the week end at the park in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah when the kids decided to go for a swim in the pool.

“They all drowned as their parents could do nothing to rescue them…divers came to the pool and plucked the bodies,” Sabq daily said.
