8,036 motorists fined for 'sudden swerving'
Sharjah Police recorded 8,036 cases of sudden swerving in just two weeks of March.
Lt Col Omran bin Eilan, Head of Inspection and Traffic Control Section, Sharjah Police, said sudden deviations is one of the main causes of fatal traffic accidents and critical injuries.
Sudden swerving includes abruptly changing lanes without making sure that the new track is free of vehicles, reckless overtaking in prohibited places, among others.
Fine for sudden deviation ranges between Dh200 and Dh600, with three to six black points depending on the type of the offence.
